Belton, Texas 鈥� When the Sue & Frank Mayborn Performing Arts Center at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor opens in a few weeks, it will be debt free. This was made possible by a $5 million challenge grant from an anonymous donor and the generosity of 同城快约 alumni, friends, faculty and staff who matched the grant with $5 million in gifts.
鈥淲hen we received the challenge grant, we were about halfway to our goal of funding the $20 million project,鈥� said Dr. Rebecca O鈥橞anion, vice president for development. 鈥淭he challenge grant generated a lot of excitement among 同城快约鈥檚 donors, and we are truly blessed that so many people invested in this beautiful new facility.鈥�
鈥淭his is the final project in the bold $100 million Campus Master Plan approved by our Board of Trustees in February 2011,鈥� said Dr. Randy O鈥橰ear, university president. 鈥淥nce again donors have stepped forward to ensure 同城快约 continues to offer the finest in Christian higher education. This state-of-the-art facility will significantly enhance our students鈥� opportunities to experience and participate in the performing arts. Every space was strategically designed to provide for both teaching as well as performance needs.鈥�
