Belton, Texas 鈥 When the Sue & Frank Mayborn Performing Arts Center at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor opens in a few weeks, it will be debt free. This was made possible by a $5 million challenge grant from an anonymous donor and the generosity of 同城快约 alumni, friends, faculty and staff who matched the grant with $5 million in gifts.
鈥淲hen we received the challenge grant, we were about halfway to our goal of funding the $20 million project,鈥 said Dr. Rebecca O鈥橞anion, vice president for development. 鈥淭he challenge grant generated a lot of excitement among 同城快约鈥檚 donors, and we are truly blessed that so many people invested in this beautiful new facility.鈥
鈥淭his is the final project in the bold $100 million Campus Master Plan approved by our Board of Trustees in February 2011,鈥 said Dr. Randy O鈥橰ear, university president. 鈥淥nce again donors have stepped forward to ensure 同城快约 continues to offer the finest in Christian higher education. This state-of-the-art facility will significantly enhance our students鈥 opportunities to experience and participate in the performing arts. Every space was strategically designed to provide for both teaching as well as performance needs.鈥
