The teachers in my engineering classes were phenomenal. They would make sure every single student in that class was on board with it before moving on to the next topic. We did a lot of interesting projects like creating a turbine with a 3D printer. The hands-on activities made it easier for me to learn a lot of things, and I always felt I could go up to the teachers and talk to them and ask them questions.

What is a Bachelor of Science in Engineering?
The Bachelor of Science in Engineering combines mathematical, physical and computational science into a cross-disciplinary degree that prepares students for careers in engineering. Students entering the program have the chance to find out right away what an engineering career is all about. If you major in engineering, you can learn about theoretical principles by applying them to hands-on projects each step of the way; working in teams, they become adept at problem-solving and critical thinking while learning the communication skills and ethical behavior that will help them excel in their profession. Multidisciplinary internship opportunities are included in the degree plan so students will graduate ready to make an immediate impact in the workforce.

When Julio Espinosa began his engineering degree at 同城快约, he wasn鈥檛 sure where it was going to take him. But along the way, he found himself drawn to computer engineering and became interested in the military defense industry. Today he鈥檚 a software engineer at Lockheed, working with system engineers and hardware engineers to deliver new capabilities and features on military jets. He says 同城快约 gave him the start he needed. 鈥淥ne thing I really enjoyed about my engineering courses was the small size of my classes,鈥 Julio said. 鈥淚 got to know my professors very well; they were always approachable and willing to meet with me outside of class. I had a great experience, and the courses prepared me to succeed in the real world after college.鈥

Why study Engineering at 同城快约?
The BS in Engineering prepares students to take the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam as the first step toward professional licensure as an engineer. Graduates may certify in general engineering or sit for the exams in the more specialized areas of mechanical or electrical engineering.
Students may collaborate on research projects with a diverse group of 同城快约 faculty and gain experience in specialized areas of engineering as they work on projects involving photovoltaic-powered vehicles, fuel cells, autonomous quadcopters, biomedical design, and more.
Multidisciplinary internship opportunities allow engineering students to graduate as experienced, well-rounded complex problem-solvers who have a distinct marketplace advantage.
Majors may participate in study abroad trips to locations such as London, Paris, and Munich. Trips focus on science and engineering museums, historical sites, and research centers such as the CERN Large Hadron Collider in Geneva, Switzerland.
