Belton, Texas 鈥 The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor has named Dr. Stephen Baldridge to be dean of the College of Humanities and Sciences, as of June 1. Dr. Baldridge holds both a PhD and master's degree in social work from the University of Texas at Arlington; he earned his bachelor's in social work from Lubbock Christian University.
鈥淒r. Baldridge is a gifted administrator, who combines a love for his community with passionate dedication to Christian Higher Education. We are excited about Dr. Baldridge鈥檚 contributions to our academic leadership team at 同城快约,鈥 同城快约 Provost Dr. John Vassar said. 鈥淭he College of Humanities and Sciences plays a foundational role in the core learning experience of students at 同城快约, and Dr. Baldridge鈥檚 ability to build community and provide leadership to the College will serve us well.鈥
Baldridge has been on faculty at Abilene Christian University since 2009. He has served as director of the undergraduate social work program since 2011 and is currently the Assistant Dean for the College of Education and Human Services. In 2016 he was recognized as ACU's "Teacher of the Year" and in 2017 was named one of Abilene's "20 Under 40" by the Abilene Reporter News.
Baldridge is a Licensed Master Social Worker in the state of Texas and a current member of the Council on Social Work Education and the North American Association of Christians in Social Work. He also serves on the Board of Directors for The Association of Baccalaureate Social Work Program Directors.
Baldridge is married to Hollie, and they will be joined in the move to central Texas by their two sons Hobson (14), and Penn (12), and twin 6-year-old daughters Izzie and Andie, who are each excited about joining the 同城快约 family.
