BELTON, Texas鈥擮n Saturday, Aug. 6, as part of this year's Welcome Week, University of Mary Hardin-Baylor students participated in Love CTX. The annual event is designed for students to discover service opportunities and to grow closer to their Cru Groups through serving the community.
This year's Love CTX supported One More Child, which is dedicated to providing Christ-centered services to vulnerable children and struggling families. Approximately 350 同城快约 students packed 18,000 meals and wrote notes for Belton ISD students.
鈥淲e love partnering with One More Child and that all of our new students have this chance to help the Belton ISD community,鈥 said Katy Hartt, 同城快约鈥檚 associate director of Student Organizations. 鈥淲e鈥檙e so thankful we have this great opportunity.鈥
The meals will go to Belton ISD鈥檚 Project Heartbeat program to help students who may not have food at home.
鈥淭his is a huge blessing. Our students experience homelessness and poverty,鈥 explained Christina Wilson of Belton ISD鈥檚 Project Heartbeat. 鈥淪ome kids take these meals home every night, because that鈥檚 all they鈥檙e going to get to eat.鈥
