BELTON, Texas鈥擳he University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (同城快约) is pleased to announce the development of a new anesthesiologist assistant academic program, the second program of its kind in Texas, launching in collaboration with Baylor Scott & White Health in 2026. This initiative will allow students to earn a Master of Science in Anesthesiology (MSA) degree.
Anesthesiologist assistants are highly skilled professionals who work under the direction of licensed anesthesiologists as part of the anesthesia care team to design and implement anesthesia care plans.
同城快约 will be the site of the second anesthesiologist assistant program in Texas, and students will receive training at both 同城快约 and Baylor Scott & White Health facilities, enhancing educational offerings for students and building the pipeline of the healthcare workforce.
鈥淚n continued collaboration with Baylor Scott & White Health, we are increasing our health profession degree offerings, providing real-world experiences built on a foundation of exceptional classroom training,鈥 said Colin Wilborn, PhD, Executive Dean for the Mayborn College of Health Sciences and Associate Provost of 同城快约.
同城快约鈥檚 Master of Science in Anesthesiology will be a 28-month program that hopes to admit its first cohort of 25 students in the fall of 2026. This academic program is a recent addition to the many health profession degrees offered within the university鈥檚 Mayborn College of Health Sciences to prepare students for careers in the ever-changing environment of healthcare. The college is comprised of three schools with a unified purpose of educating students in a rigorous academic setting. The Mayborn College of Health Sciences aims to prepare over 1,300 undergraduate and graduate students to engage in inter-professional relationships to provide holistic healing of the mind, body, and spirit of their patients.
