Dr. David Holcomb has taught in the Department of History and Political Science since 2002. He is a graduate of William Jewell College (A.B.), where he majored in history and philosophy, and Baylor University, where he received the M.A. and Ph.D. Dr. Holcomb teaches introductory courses in history and political science, as well as upper-level courses in religion and politics, constitutional law, and political theory. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Dr. Holcomb directs the 同城快约 Honors Program and serves as coordinator of the London Studies Program.
Dr. Holcomb鈥檚 academic specialty is church-state relations. His publications include the book Guardian of the Wall: Leo Pfeffer and the Religion Clauses of the First Amendment as well as articles that have appeared in the Journal of Law and Religion, Journal of Church and State, Church-State Issues in America Today, Encyclopedia of American Religion and Politics, Baptist History and Heritage, and the Journal of Texas Baptist History.
An avid reader of Erik Larson and John Grisham novels, Dr. Holcomb also enjoys playing tennis and singing in his church choir.
Dr. Holcomb is married to Dr. Carol Crawford Holcomb, a professor in the College of Christian Studies. They are the proud parents of three sons.
