The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board implemented a 42-credit hour general education core curriculum within the State of Texas for public institutions of higher education. Every public institution in Texas has a core curriculum, which has a solid foundation of courses to allow for a more seamless transfer among institutions.

If you began your education at a community college or a public 4-year university in Texas, the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor will help you earn your undergraduate degree faster with the transfer core complete status.
Texas General Education Core Complete Students certified as core complete by a state of Texas public institution of higher education before enrolling at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor are granted 同城快约 Core Complete status except for the required Old and New Testament courses and courses embedded within the major.
How does core complete status help me transfer to 同城快约?
As a transfer student, having core complete status will allow you to easily transfer your general education coursework from a Texas community college or public university to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. This is a great way to save time and money before earning your degree from our Christ-centered institution.
The requirements to meet core complete status at 同城快约 are:
- The relevant coursework must be completed before enrollment at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, and 鈥渃ore complete鈥 must be indicated on the official transcript on file within the student鈥檚 initial semester of enrollment. Core complete status is not retroactive, and having an associate鈥檚 degree does not confirm core complete status.
- While Texas Core Complete indicators on the transcript will prevail, a student must meet the minimum grade requirements for courses embedded within the major. Only courses meeting minimum grade requirements will count towards overall credit hours.
- Core complete status cannot be accepted from schools outside Texas or other Texas private institutions.
- Core complete students are still responsible for CSBS 1311 and CSBS 1312 and any general education requirements embedded within their major/minor curricula.
Does core complete apply to first-time freshmen?
No. First-time freshmen are not eligible for core complete status. While they are eligible to bring in dual credit coursework and college-level examinations as transfer credit, they are required to complete their remaining core at 同城快约.
