Internships
Sport Management
The internship/field experience is the capstone of the Sport Management major. This experience is actual work in a sport industry setting. Although it is the student’s responsibility to procure the internship at a location of their choice, final agreements and arrangements are subject to approval from the program director. Evaluation and direction will be given from the program director with appropriate supervision provided by an on-site professional. 150 hours of hands-on field experience subsequent to the senior year must be accumulated under supervision of a qualified on-site professional.

Public Health
During the final semester of coursework, students will complete the Internship in Public Health based on their career goals and interest area. This 150-hour applied experience allows students the opportunity to connect academic competencies to real-world workplace settings. The internship will be completed under the supervision of a worksite supervisor and public health faculty member. Final agreements and arrangements are subject to approval from the EXSS Dean/Public Health Program Director.
Exercise Physiology
Students must be a Junior or Senior in good academic standing. The internship program provides the EXSS student with an opportunity to learn new skills, develop professional contacts and apply academic knowledge in a community setting. Students are required to fulfill 150 hours over a minimum of 10 weeks in a approved clinical, health, nutrition, sport or fitness related setting. The internship will be completed under the supervision of worksite supervisor and a faculty member from the EXSS department. Final agreements and arrangements are subject to approval from the EXSS Chairperson/program director.
