Communication and Media Studies
The Department of Communication and Media Studies offers majors in Speech Communication, Mass Communication (with emphases in Journalism and Public Relations) and Film Studies. Our goal is to produce graduates who can think critically, reason morally, write and speak with precision and impact, and present performances in a variety of media to audiences of all types.
The Mass Communications PR track gave me the opportunity to have solid experience in what I plan to pursue as a career. The curriculum is built on case studies, giving real-life examples of what could happen and preparing you to manage it. The required internships not only aid in experience but also provide contacts who can help in starting your career path.
